MY OWN JOURNEY
The following experiences have done much to shape the way I look at things:
- Childhood in Belfast, where I was born a Catholic into a fractured Protestant-Catholic world
- Kenya where I worked for a number of years as a Catholic priest
- A Ph.D I wrote with Thomas Berry who spoke of a new foundational story or myth for an emerging ecological era
- My marriage to Ann
All of these experiences have shaped my vision and my work.
MY VISION AND MY WORK
My vision is an ecological society where ecology refers to the myriad networks of relationships that constitute all life, including the human. This vision includes essential (though often ignored) dimensions of human life, such as meaning and purpose. It also includes a moral vision where morality is based on an ever-expanding awareness of what is true and good.
MY METHOD/APPROACH: DIALOGUE
Dialogue is the art of creative interaction that allows new meaning to emerge. It is through the belonging that Dialogue enables that we learn to survive and thrive in the world. I offer Dialogue as the essential foundation and practice of a healthy and happy life at all levels.

Fran & I moved to Miami, FL, but we still think about the wonderful “couples” workshop you two facilitated at our home in Atlanta. We miss you both and hope to enjoy one of your retreats again. Please let us know of any that are in the works. Joannie
Hi Joannie, Remind me of when that workshop was. Don’t have anything coming up but perhaps it might be worth exploring again. Danny
Dear Danny,
Love your dad’s comment about us “elders” and enjoyed your blog.
Also loved the beautiful photo of you and Annie. Please give her my best.
Promise to be a more faithful reader of your pieces this year and to write you my thoughts about them.
I would also like to forward them to my son, Gerard. How do I do this?
Peace and Happy New Year,
Your “old” neighbor, Donna
